I am in the process of teaching my boys about BBS's, since they already have grown up with the web, for them it is something new and hopefully better. None the less at work I have been load testing raspberry pi's of all kinds, the only issue i have is under heavy application load there is an undervoltage at the 5v level. Syncronet came nowhere near to that, not sure how many nodes it will support, before causing a load issue. Compile was pretty quick, everything was in repos for the prerequisites, installed them all. The board runs in the server cabinet hiding in a static bag, still "testing" but pretty enjoyable so far.

Over the last weekend, I compiled SBBS on a Raspberry Pi B+ (Not the 2) and
it took me several hours to compile. Is the PiB2 really that much faster?

Yes. More importantly, it has twice the RAM.
