Which do you think is your tv software to use? I like Tvtime because it is compatible with my Hauppauge USB Tv Card. I haven't tried Mythtv because it
    is so complicated.

I had one of those Hauppauge TV cards before. It was very buggy.

tvtime doesn't support the ATI 8500DV card (see under GATOS)

IN fact, I don't think MythTV does either. I'd love to hear from anyone
who has either MythTV or TvTime working on this card.

Freevo is what I used and I liked it.

Ah never tried that one. Is it hard to set up and is it compatible with the Hauppauge WINTV HVR950 USB?

I found it simple to set up. I used mplayer as the workhorse, mplayer uses V4L, so if there's a V4L driver, it supports it.

Well my tv card uses the em28xx driver. So I dunno.
