If anyone ever ends up as broke and whatnot as I am, and ends up having to run their BBS off a flash drive... be very aware, Puppy Linux does not always save the filesystem correctly (probably hung on shutdown; I guess with the GUI not running it doesn't automatically save, as i found out the hard way).

Funny thing is, I was shutting it down to back up the flashdrive on my netbook.

I lost my binkd configuration and probably a multitude of other things I had recently installed. Luckily, I run sbbs outside of the virtual filesystem (exactly because I don't trust the virtual filesystem), but I didn't think to save the binkd config in sbbs's directory. I know I'm like probably only the second or third sysop ever to run on Puppy (I know there are a few out there who at least read as a point w/ it, as there's a fidoip package built for puppy), but thought I'd share this story, from a frustrated sysop. For every two steps forward, I take a step and a half back... ;)
