Long live UNIX! I run a couple of AIX servers for the lab at the hospital where I am. Stable as a rock.

yeah, and wait untill ibm cancels all the licenses.
Linux, is the future. Even SCO is dying.

Good point - Red Hat is everywhere in my data center. I don't see UNIX going away anytime soon though, as it is the foundation of many OEM medical applications.

IBM won't cancel the license for quite a while. Actually a new version AIX 7 is to be released soon. http://www-03.ibm.com/systems/power/software/aix/v71/preview.html

IBM sells AIX to big companies that want "security through obscurity". How many people have access to AIX as well as a Power server to run it on, let alone the newest stuff? And who has knowledge of the whereabouts of companies who uses that combination?

True, Linux is the future. And that is where the trouble is going to be from. SELinux and App Armor can only go so far. Eventually there will be something released. I'm not knocking linux at all. I'm a *huge* fan of it. But I am also realistic and have seen some of the problems.
