I switched from Ubuntu 9.04 to Centos 5.5 and now all the bbs's ansi is messed up. I don't see the ansi code, but I see other wierd charactors and the ansi is not spaced or lined up properly. would anyone know what causes this?

Your terminal program. Your TERM environment variable setting. Your termcap settings. One or more of the above. :-)

Probably the terminal settings, if you have the SDL libraries installed, syncterm should be able to use SDL mode and display correctly.
