My cell phone has taken the place of my personal pager (Still have my emergency pager though of course). Fills the role nicely.

I have a Percomm E-80 at work that I would love to use (looks like an older Blackberry, has a contact list and note pad, full keypad) but end up
routing all of my pages through my cell phone. Even Nostalgia has its
limits - I like carrying only a small flip-phone with me. The days of
packing a pager alongside are long gone.

I do like pagers, but most paging networks are dying. There are big gaps in Verizon's coverages in my sister-in-law's neighborhood, and I know there's
no chance of Verizon spending any money to improve their network.

If I do get something going, whicH I'm already in works on more
details, I'd love for folks to jump on board and maybe even do their
own segments or spots about their boards. Will it get any downloads???
I don't care -- as everything I do I do it for the fun of it :)

Maybe we should pick a message echo for this? Or make a new one somewhere?
I started puttering around making a DOS box last night, am going to start journaling the progress.

Hmm, it showed this message was from April 2006, almost 8 months ago, but
it was in my new messages at 1006 of 1010. Hmm, odd. I don't even
remember what the original message was about :)
