I see the opposite problem: everyone is talking--just to themselves. They post updates that they find interesting about themselves, not directed to other people. I.e., "I hate Mondays!", "Off to the races!", "I just won 500 piggies in farm land", etc..

In the end I look at "my wall" and I see 100 threads from 100 people, essentially shouting to themselves and no one else. None of the posts are actually directed towards me, or I find interesting.

In short, it's just all fucking spam . The only difference is that I've whitelisted (accepted friends) them all, so they're good to keep filling up my wall with baby pictures, relationship woes, music videos, and other bullshit that I have absolutely zero interest in.

I use Facebook not necessarily because I enjoy using Facebook, but because many of my friends use it, so I use it to keep in touch with them. I think Facebook is also useful for sharing photos that I take - I like sharing some things and interacting with my friends as they comment on things I share, and as I look through and comment on things that they share. Also, sometimes someone will post something funny to their wall to share with people. I think those things are what make Facebook most useful.
