    Yeah, it looks awesome.

    It's a tiny little thing! But it's a screamer.

    It goes like The Clappers!

    Does that mean fast? :-)

First launch and it bellied straight into the grass. Switch to high rates
and applied full elevator trim and launched again. Climbing and pulling
left. Very touchy in roll. Everyone at the club going "Jeebus!" while
I'm all "Fuckfuckfuckityfuck!" Aileron back to normal rates, and full
right aileron trim (not enough, but at least it's now a little bit more manageable), Back to half trim on elevator. All the while making a big
circuit around to the north, with it *specked* and me trying to hold orientation.

Just about got it manageable by the time it's HOWWWWWLING past, low over
the clubhouse at the start of a second pass, with the members saying
things like "Where did it g-ohmigod!" and "Well, I guess I was wrong about
it being underpowered..." and "Are you at full trottle?" and me going "No, about 40%."

Throttle up, stick back.... Z-O-O-O-M! Vertical performance not a
concern, keep the stick back and make a biiiiiig loop, to the whooping and hollering of the rum-soaked observation gallery (three bottles of rum
opened that afternoon) and as she finishes the loop, bang over the
aileron. Hmmm -- roll-rate not as high as I'd expect. Gotta confirm the direction of rotation of the fan (because at 35,000 RPM the torque on that
fan will make rolls one way fast and the other way sluggish) and try that
rool again, but on high rates.

Yep! You gotta keep your eye on this one, because it gets *very* far away *very* quick, and it is small. So with some trimming out to do, I bring
it in at just under 5 minutes. NEXT time, (Wednesday?) I think I'll
actually charge the battery before flight!

You know, studying the spec on that fan unit, if I change to the
24-45-3790 motor with 4 cells and a 35 amp controller, I can triple my
power to the fan, increase RPM to 48,000 and push the effluent velocity up from about 85 to nearly 220 MPH!

    :-)

    Here's hoping it holds together!

Depends. Some want to get wasted, so they snap. Some want a cool drink
to help deal with the rigours of a tropical day, so they drink a highball
    or a rum punch.

I started with rum and coke (camo), tried ginger, even orange juice,
settled for rum & seven for many years, then rum & indian tonic for many years, then finally just rum & water. I've never been a white-rum
drinker. Some folks swear by it, claiming that it is more pure and
therefore better for you. That argument is for drunks. I've always
preferred a 'dark shadows' rum, originally Mount Gay Eclipse, then later
the Cockspur Old Gold. (Rum is blended, and the quality of the various
blends will vary over time. As one blend improves another may disimprove
and at some point you may feel to switch your allegiance.) Of course, you wouldn't turn down a good Old Brigand, VSOR or any of the other extra-old
    rums either!

Had another good flight today, in somewhat windy, gusty conditions.
Altered the exponential from -40% to -50% and ran with a 7:45 down-count
    on the timer.

I asked another guy to take some photos with his camera, and he complained that it was too fast, so I was flying slow and making some mild turns and
so forth. When the alarm went off, I figured there was a bit more oomph
in the battery, so I throttled up and climbed for height. Flying at an altitude that rendered the aircraft a spec, I made several circuits, and
did a few loops and rolls at height. Eventually the fan shut down and I
made an approach to land. Even diving steeply I couldn't get down far
enough to get on the strip, so I then made a short circuit, low to the
ground, with no power (gliding) but still fast. Eventually got it on the ground sweet as pie, with the clock stopped at -1:45. That's a 9:30
flight. Not bad. That isn't long in terms of a glow motor, but with this little thing, you have to concentrate hard to keep it together, so short flights *seem* much longer. I'm quite satisfied with this battery pack,
and don't plan to try the larger pack which would give 1/3 more endurance.

I don't know what the photos are like since the guy isn't a shutter-
monkey, but he says he got a few nice ones. I'll drop of a stick tomorrow
and see how quickly I can get it back.
