• Christmas Presents

From Angus McLeod@VERT/ANJO to All on Wednesday, December 12, 2007 19:37:00
Argh! My Christmas Prezzies are taking a long time to reach me! With
three staged purchases from Tower and two from Amazon, I was looking
forward to a fun 25th! But seasonal backlogs have raised delivery times
    from days to weeks. Grrr!

Again, its what you get for living on a paradise island!

    :)

I ordered a new Core 2 Duo computer, with a 22" wide screen monitor on
Monday, and got it today. :)

I couldn't believe it myself, as normally, it takes about 4 to 5 days.

Funnily enough, the bottom-end shipping usually delivers *significantly* faster than predicted. Say I order on Monday. I get a delivery day ten
days away. The package is delivered Thursday. :-) Then I have to wait
maybe 2-3 weeks for processing by Customs & Excise... :-(

I shipped 5 packages a couple weeks back and 3 were priority mail and 2 were parcel post, those 2 parcel posts actually arrived at their destinations BEFORE 2 of the priority mail ones did, All in the continental US too.

Just ordered a package, the order status on the website currently reads

    "Estimated Arrival Date: Between 12/24/07 - 12/27/07"

It was delivered this morning at 6:45AM.

That's not the problem. The problem is, it now has to be strapped to the
deck of a fore-n-aft rigged brigantine, and cross the oceans to get
*here*, at which time it will fall into the clutches of Ye Olde
    Excisemen!

Fuk. If America had a stable government, it might even be worth
considering moving there so my goods could be delivered in a timely
    fashion.

I do believe I heard some rumour that you had a revolutionary war, as
recent as the 1770's? Not exactly the epitome of stability. We have had
a stable parliament here for something like 375 years.
