• Elder in the air

From Angus McLeod@VERT/ANJO to All on Monday, August 14, 2006 10:08:00
I finally got the Elder flying again yesterday.

I dismantled my glow-igniter to see if it was possible to use a C-type
cell instead of a sub-C cell. (It isn't. Not without destroying the igniter.) While it was all in bits, I spoke to each individual part in a stern voice, being especially critical of the Sanyo cell.

Then I reassembled it, and stuck a torchlight bulb in the clip. The bulb
    lit up brightly!

Anyway, I had a couple good flights, including loops, hammerheads, and
some intense touch'n'go action. A hoot!

Then we all sat back with a bevy, and watched the sky turn from blue and white, to red and purple, to orange and gold, to black and diamonds!

    So just a connection issue?

All's well that ends well. :-)

I don't know. But looking after this elderly relative takes up so much of
my time that there isn't a lot left for modelling. All my gear is showing signs of neglect. :-/

Yes, I had a really good time, even though the day wasn't particularly special. I regret not being able to be as active a modeller just now, as
    I was before.

I have that regret with a lot of my hobbies right now (including this one), but I find my "spare time" availability to be cyclical, increasing after the end of baseball season and decreasing around the time of spring training. :-)

    Heh!

Well, I have this relative that needs a lot of help. I have to transport
to the dentist this afternoon, and I suspect that some teeth will be extracted, meaning depression that will need dealing with, then some sort
of dinner that can be consumed through a straw...

And they aren't going to suddenly get any younger, so it isn't going to
    get any easier.....

Of course babies and the day job don't help either.

    Absolutely! :-)

Fortunately, no extractions were needed, only one filling. I'm still
getting bitched at about the cost of that, but by tomorrow that issue will vanish into a vortex of senile dementia. :-/

Yea, that does occur... although, not all of us have the same time
