• VW Jetta with free fuel

From Zombie@VERT/THEFIX to All on Thursday, April 13, 2006 23:43:00
For those of you complaining about gas prices, just thought I should let you know that I managed to get my 1993 VW Jetta Turbo Diesel to run on free waste restaurant oil. Works great currently but ordered the Elsbett kit just to be safe. Using a multi-stage gravity fed filtration system to make sure the
oil is as clean as possible.

Is this one of those cars that'll smell like french fries when you're
riding behind it ??? Hehe, but too cool!!! What's the cost to convert?

What sucks about gas is it's almost $2.90 again here in Waco, Tx. Heck it cost me almost $15 to fill up my gas can to mow my hard last weekend!
Crazy thing is my Trailblazer (16 gallon tank) cost me $16 bucks to fill up when I bought it 5 years ago.

Tell me, as you drive down the road, do you find yourself followed by large numbers of obese individuals with that glazed "Mac Attack" look on their
    faces?

BioDiesel. Nothing new, but I suppose it's fun to play with. Just out of curiousity, how many miles to the supersized order of fries do you get?
Me? I'll stick with my petrol-fueled Z34. I may pay more for my fuel, but
I sure get there a lot faster and WITHOUT that craving for fast food!

Yeah, but soon you'll be beholden to the Organization of French Fry
Exporting Countries. And we'll be dealing with Peak Fry.

    :)

Congrats, BTW to the original poster. I drove diesels for years and loved them. I wouldn't mind one now, but it pisses me off that Diesel is now
priced higher than unleaded, when it costs less to produce. Less demand,
    less supply, higher price.

Cool. I am looking into getting another car. So you just go to McD's
and order some fries and a few gallons of waste oil or what?
