    I've test-fitted the under-carriage:

I have to build the hatch and nose-block before I can do any shaping with
the razor-plane and sanding-block. The nose-block may be tricky because
it has to come back off again in order to fit the fore-plane. And the
hatch incorporates the cockpit and canopy which I have to make. I now
have to buy 2 litres of 7-Up to get the green plastic for making the canopy.....

Well, I could probably use a smaller bottle, but given that I'm likely to screw up and need more green plastic, & given that I actually like 7-Up...

For some reason when I first read your message I was thinking you were going to use the green paper *wrapping* on the 2-liter bottle. Now I finally "got it", you'll use the translucent green bottle itself for the canopy. That's cool.

Yes, I've done it before, on an earlier model:

(Another canard!) The first time I just cut the plastic and bent it
around, but this time I may have to heat it onto a form to give it the
shape I'm looking for. If that proves too difficult, I may be forced to redesign the cockpit to allow for an easier-to-make canopy!
