A new crank has been ordered. I didn't stick my nose in, because there
are 'tensions' involved with the affaire. (Ian is acting very childishly about it, saying he washes his hands of the entire matter. His father, Norman, has taken over the repair of the model.) But they say they
*think* the crankshaft is bent. There is a sideways wobble in the hub
that holds the electronic ignition, and a bent crank would explain it. However, a distorted hub would explain it too. They should have tested
the crank by chucking it in a lathe and using a DTI to check for wobble.
And they have all the facilities to do so -- Ian is parts & service
manager for one of the largest auto dealerships in the island, and Norm
is a director of the same company.

But it ain't none of my business...

Ah. Well in any case, it sounds as if they'll be able to salvage/repair the motor, which is good.
