    I can't believe this worked. My wife brought home an aquarium... with a cracked bottom (all the way though, and all the way across... and we
    managed to fix it by glueing plastic to both sides with silicone glue.

    I would have thrown the stupid thing away...

    Wait at least a week before filling and populating it with fish... Acetic acid (released by the curing of silicone sealant) is not good for them.

    *blink* I wasn't aware of that. In fact, I'd been told the opposite (not
    to worry about silicone sealants), but that explains the mass extinction I had last time I made a minor repair to my main tank.

    Hmm. I'd chalked it up to the Kid putting something into the tank that shouldn't have gone in there.
