Actually, the costuming is a very SMALL part of the fandom as the vast majority
of furs can not afford the fursuits. Thos things can run anywhere from $300 >(for just a head) to several THOUSAND dollars for a full suit.

I know people who make their own cosplay outfits, but I am guessing a furry
one probably costs alot even then.

And then you have those that cosplay IN fursuit. ie, it's their fursona that doing the cosplay, so they make the costumes big enough to go OVER their fursuits.

But, yes, a fursuit can cost a lot more than a cosplay, especially for the VERY high quality ones.
