First CCG I've ever really played for more than a game or two, it's fun, I'm not buying any packs going the free to play route, and so far i've been having fun. Just started playing ranked mode, got a couple rare cards, but mostly just playing the game with basic cards and doing OK.

Hearthstone is free to play, and if you enjoy collectable card games like Magic, I recommend checking it out.

Yep, all digital, you play as one of 9 heroes from Warcraft universe, each
with a set of their own personalized cards and access to a big cataloge of common cards. You can buy card booster packs which you'll earn by just playing and earning gold for wins (or other various "daily quests"), or you can spend real money if you so desire.

I've been playing for a few months without spending any real cash and have been casual competitive. I made it up a few levels in ranked matches last "season" without trying too hard, but mostly I just play casual mode. There's also an Arena mode where you have to build a random deck and see how far you can go with that deck alone. Bigger prizes in there i've heard, but it costs gold to build a deck to get started.

Their card system is pretty nice, you can't trade cards, but you can craft cards using "dust" which you get by breaking down extra cards or cards you just don't want then making other cards.

I've heard a lot of MTG people are not into HS, but you should try it. Like I said... FREE. Really easy to get into. The game puts you through a tutorial and you'll be matching up against other players in no time. Season 2 is underway at the moment, and sometime over the summer they are releasing an expansion with a new Adventure Mode, which has something to do with Naxxramous, and again, free.
