I recently set up synchronet, and all was going well, with my file
libraries on a removable drive, and everything else on my D: drive.
I then decided to move my installation to the external drive, so that I could make it portable, editing config files as needed.

This is the wrong area for Synchronet support questions. Please see http://synchro.net/docs/support.html for details.

It's more of less working, but when it runs tbdmaint or msgmaint, the dos shell attempts to run something on drive D:, and then sit there with an abort/retry/fail error if I've not got an installation on D: for it to
    find.

Any idea what else needs editing?

Did you change the command-lines for these events in SCFG->External Programs->Timed Events? The stock/default command-lines should work fine when moving the files from one drive to another. As example:

    Internal Code MSGMAINT
    Start-up Directory ../data
    Command Line %!smbutil mp1000 subs/*.shd

You can see the start-up directory is relative to the current working directory (which should be your Synchronet CTRL directory) and the path is just "subs/*.shd" - everything being relative.

Failing that, what files would I need to copy from my current install to a fresh install on E: to avoid setting the whole thing up again? I'm guessing /data and /ctrl - anything else?

text, if you made any modifications there.
