I just tried my searchfoo on all the major search engines...and even
what's left of Archie to boot.

As far as I can tell, it's not survived online. Perhaps you could try
asking around on different FTN networks, maybe you'll get lucky and
someone has a copy offline.

I have 0.979 as a zip file on the Break Into Chat BRE wiki page: http://breakintochat.com/wiki/Barren_Realms_Elite#Downloads

If for some reason you need it as an arj instead of zip, I can send you that as well. Just let me know.

Slowly I'm adding archives of old versions of games to articles on the wiki. BRE is one of the first ones I did that for.

Thanks for catching that. Seems I mangled all the URLs.

Now they are fixed. And v0.979 is the original .arj file.

you need to set the permissions on the 960 one
or it's a 404 error
