• Windows Explorer behavior borked

From Poindexter Fortran@VERT/REALITY to All on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 01:01:37
I've somehow borked my Windows 7 64 bit install. When browsing files in Windows Explorer, it's acting like I've enabled single-click; when I hover over an icon it underlines and selects, and a single-click opens.

The weird thing is that when I go into Tools->Folder options->General, the single-click option is greyed out and the double-click option is selected.

Does anyone know how to reset it back to normal?

Maybe there's an option in one of your ".ini" statements that it's reading.

    mouse driver option?

I thought it might be the mouse, but then noticed when I switched the mouse the same behavior occurred. I'm about to do a repair install and see what happens.

I got a virus and ran ComboFix; I think it's search-and-destroy features might have caused the issue.

    mouse driver option?

The other weirdness is that libraries act as expected - single click to select, double-click to open, no underlining.

If I click on a drive letter, I get the borked active-desktop looking behavior.
