What seems to be the best AV program to use, for the last two years I have been subscribing to NOD32. Should I maintain my subscription, or should I go for Norton or even go with Microsoft's free solution.

    thank you

I use AVG free. Has AV and spyware protection. Been using it for years. Avast is another good free one,but doesn't protect from spyware.

    STICK WITH ESET!!!!

Seriously man, stick with ESET. 'nuff said. They are just the best. They keep you protected with a minimal footprint and minimal effort or intervention on your part.

NOD32 is hands down the best, Norton's regained high placement since the rewrite for the 2008 version though. If you don't stick with NOD32, then would go with Avast (freebie)... MS's isn't really proven, and AVG has been falling a bit into the bloated category.

For the past few years, I've used the Free Avast! Home Edition. Haven't had a problem with it whatsoever, and haven't had a virus penetrate it either. I guess AVG has a free one out there too, but I've never used it.
