if it's not clearly labeled and/or color coded, you really need to dig up the manufacturer of the motherboard... many manufacturers have consistent FP connectors for their motherboard lines. This is usually harder with an mb that came out of an OEM computer, as the model numbers, and mfg specific info usually isn't silk screened on the motherboard (only the stuff required by the FCC etc).

Use Google for 4000827 manuel and then search.... I don't know if it's
a similiar board or not, but a link to a guy on e-bay selling one shows
    http://support.gateway.com/s/Manuals/Desktops/8508813/8508813.pdf
Towards the very end is a layout of the board, I'm awaiting for page 227
to finish loading, which is apparently where it is at. Look at the specs,
features, etc. and see if it might not be a similiar board....

Sierra IC list a board # A86577-304, no manuals though.... Lots of
Chinese Writing for other links.... One page I tried to pull up, Google
blocked because it appears to be harmfull to my computer.... Not a good
    sign.... ;-)

You might want to try capturing the BIOS boot screen. Along the bottom
there is usually a code, it can be quite lengthy. Anyway, if you can
capture that entire code, do a search for Wim's Boot Bios. Hopefully he'll still have a website up. It lists AMI and AWARD bios codes. Should cover nearly 90% of motherboards. You can look up the code and get the mainboard manufacturer and model. From there you can go to the manufacture's website
and download appropriate documentation. FWIW, Gateway boards have been manufactured by everyone from ASUS to Micronics....

something else you can do that i've found quite useful in the past is to look for the FCC ID on the motherboard. The FCC runs an online database that is searchable by the ID number that can help point you in the right direction as well.
