I have an older Mac Classic system but unfortunately it has no software and the OS needs to be reloaded. If someone has a Mac Classic would yo be willing to send me copies of the OS disks so I can reload the thing? I'd be willing to send you floppies along with a SASE if that's okay.

Without knowing the CPU specifically, I would guess you can run up throug OS7 at least, maybe 9 or X... to be honest though, unless you have specific needs for mac os, Yellow Dog Linux may be a better option for yo

    Hi Michael,

I haven't had a chance to check the specific specs of the system, but what I want to reload is a Mac Classic which probably has a Motorola 68000 series processer running at around 8Mhz. I'm betting it'll run System 6 or 7, but Mac OS 9 or 10 :) It would be a neat feat if it could though...

Being a classic computer junkie my goal is to setup an older computer and us it for some sort of productive work. Though I didn't own a Mac Classic back the day I used them at school all the time... so I know this little box can still be useful for some day to day tasks as long as I can get it networked.

well i can tell you that you can find original mac classic system disks on ebay this way you can have the original disks to go with it and most of the time you can get them for just a few bucks, enjoy!!
