• Mobile HF Setup?

From Raven@VERT/MICKYBAY to All on Sunday, February 08, 2015 18:29:00
    Hi ALL,

Ive been looking on the net now for a while looking for a mobile HF setup.
    What do you guys use?

I started to look at the Yeasu rigs and use them with an Atas antenna however I have since been told to steer clear of the Atas as you cant get it wet ?!?
Im not sure if somone was pulling my leg but that seems a little silly for an antenna...

My other option was somthing like a Kenwood TS-480HX with the built in tuner.

Another consideration is the antennas.. Is it better to use a mono band or a multiband antenna what do you guys use

    Thanks in advance

Ive been looking on the net now for a while looking for a mobile HF setup. What do you guys use?

    I have a Kenwood TS-940S/AT into a trap dipole and a Yaesu FT-736R into a 6m dipole and a 2m+ discone.

I built all my antennas myself, so I have no opinions on Atlas, but I would check the manual and see what they say about it.
