• The right to bare arms.

It seems here near the Bay Area a lot of people dislike firearms and the ultra liberals seem to want to ban them all together. Of course it's odd these are the same people that seem to enjoy their freedom of speech, yet want want others rights to free speech limited if there ideals might offend some one. I think one of the things they seem to forget is that the fact the American people have the right to bare arms, and often do, helps protect all other rights we enjoy here in this country. Don't get me wrong, I am surely not a hard nosed conservative, but more a realist. If any one group holds the power, then that group will surely abuse that power, for absolute power corrupts absolutely, and seems without fail.
Of course the same people that want to ban arms, are often the same ones that do not trust the police, the government, or our politicians. I don't trust any of them to much either, but when push does comes to shove, it is the one armed that can insure he's rights will not be violated.
Also our consitution states it is our duty to ensure that, if the government is no longer working for the poeple, the poeple have the responcability to replace that government, and it would be pretty hard to do so with sicks and rocks when the corrupt government you need to change have a fully armed, police and military.
And just the fact that there are a lot of Americans out there armed, is enough to scary the crap out of anyone who might think that they could get away with eliminating too many of our rights.
of course maybe I'm just ramblying on or just not expressing my point of view atiquitely enough, but I just worked 14 hrs and am very tried and ready for bed, so may just be me.
