I recently purchased a Ruger P85 for target practice and self defense. I
will be applying for a license to carry it concealed.

Living near New Orleans, and the Katrina criminals, it has gotten t the point where a gun could be needed at any time.

    Hail the Constitution!

Hi. I keep a Ruger P95 near my bed and a Taurus .38 special in my car. I also do have my CHL, which expires in a few months *mental note*.

I can't imagine living in New Orleans after all the mess that went down in that area last year... I'd say a gun and ham radio are the two essential things now'days.

Yep, I don't have a HAM license, but then again, if there is another
emergency such as Katrina, I'm sure the FCC woldn't be out looking for me.
    :-)

My Ruger is a model P95 also...sorry for the typo.

When my bbs is fully set up it will contain documentaries, including our
    rights under the constitution.

I think the FCC has rules where in case of an emergency, anyone can use any frequency... so should be safe in that case :) As for the BBS, post the address once it's up. You might have to update the 'rights under the constitution' from time to time as our rights are slowly disappearing.

    I didn't know that about HAM radio..interesting.

We just had an attempted robbery in the French Quarter. A guy and his
girl friend were approached from behind and the guy got a gun stuck in his
back with a request for his wallet. The guy had a legal concealed weapon permit, pulled his gun and turned around and killed the perp. No charges
were filed. It turned out the perp had been suspected of a spree of armed robberies in the French Quarter. It's geting as bad as the wild west out there.

As far as the documentaries, they are mostly New World Order full length
movies by Alex Jones. They explain in depth how our rights are and will be taken from us and how our Constitution wil die upon the birth of the American Union (Mexico/US/Canada combined. Everyone should view them and they are
free to make copies and give away to friends and relatives for educational purposes.

    Regards.

Actually, I don't believe that is true. In a genuine emergency, the FCC probably would not admonish you for broadcasting in some random band. However, I don't think you are specifically *allowed* to use the spectrum
    as you see fit.

It's like if an emergency occurrd and you drove on the highway without a drivers license and insurance. You *probably* wouldn't get a ticket for a traffic violation, but that doesn't mean you are formally *allowed* to
drive without a license in an emergency!
