• Pellet gun

From Digital Man@VERT to All on Sunday, December 26, 2004 12:54:43
I asked my wife for a pellet gun for Christmas - to shoot the rats and gophers in the backyard and the coyotes that run through our street at night. Shooting a gun in the city is illegal, the cross bow is too messy and awkward (not to mention way overkill for a *rat*) and the slingshot is just not accurate enough.

She complied with a nice little package (http://www.gamo-airguns.com/air-rifle-hunter220combo.htm).

It's a single pump, single shot job, and fires at 1000fps.

I sighted in the scope yesterday at about 20 yards. I was amazed at it's ability to put consecutive pellets through the same .177 whole in the cardboard box. I'll move the target further up the hill today, but most of my targets will be fairly close range. If I was into killing birds, I could a yard full of feathers right now, but alas, I've had my fill of killint innocent little creatures. (Rats, gophers, and coyotes are *not* innocent!). :-)

    Hey, that looks sweet!

Now put yourself to the test. Line up five 9mm cartridge cases at 35
yards and try to knock them down one at a time with only 5 shots. :-)

Okay. I don't have any 9mm cases, so 7.62mm will have to do. I'll update you on my progress. :-)

Ok. It's called mini-sniping, and it's *hard*!! Usual target is an empty piece of 9mm parabellum brass, or some object of comparable size, The
range is 35 yards. With that size target and that range, it's comparable
to shooting at a man's torso at 1,336 yards!

Not exactly correct. The military change the M-16 from fully automatic
to where it does a 3 round burst. The reason for this, on full
automatic, the first round would usually hit low, the second, middle to
low and the third high, anything after that was usually well above
whatever you were aiming for. So, all later M-16a1's were changed.

As for Sniper's, there's the "One shot, one kill!" saying... But having
been in the military since 78, I'd never heard your saying above.

Yep.. I was in the military and After qualifying they tried to get me to go sniper but I didnt do it.. That and because when I did my three shot groupin All three shots went in the same hole...:)

After 6 months at Sniper school, I qualified by shooting 25 rounds of 7.62
ammo in a dime sized group, taking out the spot in the middle of the 10 ring
    at a 1000 meters. :)

This was done with a System 21 setup, M-14 with an ArkII scope.

But that was just me. :)

I asked my wife for a pellet gun for Christmas - to shoot the rats and gophe in the backyard and the coyotes that run through our street at night. Shooti a gun in the city is illegal, the cross bow is too messy and awkward (not to mention way overkill for a *rat*) and the slingshot is just not accurate enough.

She complied with a nice little package (http://www.gamo-airguns.com/air-rifle-hunter220combo.htm).

It's a single pump, single shot job, and fires at 1000fps.

I sighted in the scope yesterday at about 20 yards. I was amazed at it's ability to put consecutive pellets through the same .177 whole in the cardbo box. I'll move the target further up the hill today, but most of my targets will be fairly close range. If I was into killing birds, I could a yard full feathers right now, but alas, I've had my fill of killint innocent little creatures. (Rats, gophers, and coyotes are *not* innocent!). :-)

Welcome to the wonderful world of pellet guns.. I own 3.. and a CO2 pistol and a spring loaded pistol.. :)

.410 shotgun, thankfully some heavy canvas got in the way!
christ i wouldn't have liked that to much i suppose.. that's a bit more powerfull than your typical bb gun.

if someone put a gun to my head.. i'd be like go for it mofo

If someone put a gun to my head, he'd better not blink, or *I'll* go for
    it.

well that's kinda what i was implying there. but if i 'knew' i wasn't able to take the person out. and that person had a gun against my head or near it.. i prolly wouldn't care. i'll get in to this more in the below qoute
i have never been afraid of dying. infact i welcome death with open arms. and look forward to it some day..

I don't welcome death. I intend to avoid it as long as possible.

I welcome death because ever since i can remember 'even before my teenage years' i've always felt that i didn't belong here in the world. like no one
is similar to me and i'm not like anyone else. i guess the best analogy would be that i feel like an alienated person of sorts. i see all these people walking and talking around me but i don't feel apart of them. like i'm
singled out. and i'm not refering to that i haven't a single friend .. 'cause that's just not what i'm saying.. i have many friends and i had many in high school too. but i never felt like i could completely connect with anyone or anything. yes i'm kinda geekish or nerdish.. but at the same time i'm a badass. i know and do alot of things with computers.. but i've also done things in the real wor to. shot guns, four wheeling, bridge jumping.. camping plus i have nearl 80%ish of my body covered in tattoos. i even have tons of scars all over my body from the odd things i've done and fights i've been in. but from i've noticed i just can not and or do not fit in with any single person or crowd. i'm kinda funny in that way.. i also noticed about myself that i have multiable aspects to my personality. almost like seperate personalities. but only one single concance. I have a badass side, a compansionate side, a lonley side, a very hateful and kill all two legged creatures side and an educated well versed side. i could name a few others
but i've rambled on long enough.... just to give you an idea by what i ment
    by "I welcome death"

omfg. now that's crazy.. actually i was personally thinking what the hell was that big marketing 'someone' in the corperate world thinking. besides money that is. i think at some point we have to just sit back and think what the hell is going on in the corp world. to me our 'american' lifestyle has become way to corperate. hell im not a religious type person nor am i christian. but think about christmas. this was supposed to be a holiday to honor some super hippy back 2000 or so years ago.. and yet today it has little to no meaning
as it did just a few hundred years ago.. i think people are so brain washed that they 'must buy you something for xmas' that they forgetten the real meaning about this so called special holiday. i'm not trying to start a relgious debate so pleas and i do beg and plead with you and ohter people who insist on doing such.. please don't. i'm just stating an observation that i have had.

One time, just for kicks, my cousin shot me!
.410 shotgun, thankfully some heavy canvas got in the way!
I took it in the right side of the head, just above the temple.

Now THIS explains a lot... :)

You are not the first person to say so. :-)

    No doubt. :)

By the way, you did beat the fuck out of him for that I hope?

But seriously -- do you reload the toy turd into the fake colon by inserting from below? (Which would be pretty gross.) Or do you insert it down from above? (Which would be positively disgusting!)

Don't ask me... All our Elmos just dance and sing. No shit.

yeah arfield was cool.. i haven't seen the movie myself.. but i get what you're saying.. back when i was growing up. my little sister watched this movie 'parent trap' the original. anyway that movie made me want to go out
and do dangerous things to other people.. then came the remake of the
movie... it was like i was super hopped up on drugs or somethin and needed to vent my extra hyper drug induced motivation. hahah trying to paint a picture theere.. oh and the other moive that my little syster would watch over and oever and over and over and over and over and over and over *you get the
idea* was 'The Sound Of Music' now that's a move that will induce suicide to all those within viewing/listening distance

We bought our almost 2 year old an Elmo crapping on a potty chair for Christmas. He has mini underwear on that you can pull down.. He comes w book to read too while he's crappin' lol!

You press his hand and he says "Elmo is going to the potty!"

that's a joke right? you're not serious. if you're are serious and this product is actually on the market or was on the market.. what the hell.. i'm at a loss for words.. yeah it doesn't happen often.. but come on.. a crappin newspaper reading elmo ? wtf

I swear to God dude.. you pull his pants down and he craps on the toilet. He comes with underwear that you can pull down, A book that has a picture of him crappin' on it, and a juice cup. He says "Elmos thirsty" and you feed him the juice, then he says "Elmo is ready to go potty" and you pull his pants down and put him on the toilet and he squeals with delight "ELMO IS GOING TO THE POTTY!". I will take some pics of this beast and post them in the general area tomarrow for everyone to enjoy.. :)
