Nothing like a 40 S&W or 46 ACP hydrashocks, or even semi-wad cutters for home loading. I want to make sure I am knocking them to the ground as well as put a hole the size of a half dollar in them.

I never made my own loads, but I had a couple speed-loaders worth made up to my spec. by a friend who 'rolled his own'.

Medium-hot .357 loads with hollow-based full lead wadcutter slugs. The slugs loaded backwards with the hollow base forward. A copper gas-check on the front (now back) of the wadcutter so as not to lead the barrel when I lit off the round. Some dogshit in the hollow base of the wadcutter, with a large steel ball-bearing embedded in the dogshit, and another gas-check across the top to keep everything in and keep everything nice and clean.

I rather liked that round. Good thing I never had occasion to use it in anger!

Not approved by the Geneva Conventions, tho....

That called the Dottie round? :)

That was before Dottie's time, actually. Probably a good thing I don't carry any more, or I'd have shot his arse this afternoon.

I was taking a nap and he came and Wuff!ed and Arf!ed until I got out of bed to see what he wanted. Then he jumped into the bed, curled up, and went to sleep!
