    Al Scribbled to Knightmare <=-

I've installed and played with it... its as bloatware as the RH... only
real changes is the looks... same OS/setup that RH has always been. Not worth the download or the waste of CD's to burn it on.
    So its typical Linux.... ;-)

Red Hat was the first version of Linux I successfully installed a couple years ago. I never really liked it, or maybe it was gnome I didn't like (I didn't know about gnome or kde or the others at the time).
The thing that irratates the bottom off of me with RedHat is the way it
forces you to use a swap partition, regardless... UGH!
At least Slackware will give you the option of not using the swap
partition, ESPECIALLY when you have WAY PLENTY OF RAM!

Having Windows or Red Hat/Mandrake is a lot like having a Credit Card...
"I really don't have near enough money to buy ANYTHING, but I got this
plastic, so what the heck, charge that brand new Porche, that 52 inch
plasma TV, and a game cube..." As compared to Slackware/DOS 6.22,
"I'm saving up to buy me that Volts Wagon Beetle, 2 more months and
its all mine! I can make do without that hamburger for a few weeks....
When the Beetle's paid off, and your oweing your life, I'll be much
    happier than you....."

Slackware was my first successful... But then again... RH wasn't around then. :) You used Slackware or ... AS400. :)
Yeah, same here, except the kernel version was a 0.1.? on the version I
downloaded from a BBS at 1200 BAUD!!!! Sure was faster than the 300 BAUD
that never worked.... Couldn't wait to get the D-Series set.... So I could
    COMPILE programs for linux!
