    Hehehe. Not my style.
Need something light, small for conceal carry, but min 7 rounds.
While the stopping power of .357 is good, it's too big and not enuough rounds for my liking.

Looked at the Baretta Nano and S&W Shield 9mm.
Both seem to bulky to me. When I watch people fire it they seem uncomfortable, not accurate...

The ruger, while much cheaper / plain looking, seems more comfortable to me and the kel-tec is very affordable.

    Dunno.

how about a little tiny 5 shot 22 long cal revolver.
these were used mostly on beltbuckles.
around as big as my thumb.
maybe 2 or 3 of these.

Not familiar with the ruger, but I carry a Keltec 9 - but I'm a big guy with big hands. My wife is much smaller - carries a Keltec 380. It's a great little firearm!

Not sure who posted this as SysOp. It wasnt me. But I would go for the 9mm myself powerful weapon and light weight. I guess it all depends on what you have in mind of shooting. ;)

Well, I'm not sure exactly what you mean by powerful, but the 9mm
doesn't have a whole lot in the way of stopping power when you compare it to .357 and up. In the military police corps of the army, where I had most of my training, the M9 9mm semi-auto was used as the primary duty weapon, and we were taught to definitely not just stop at putting one round into central body mass when trying to stop a potentially lethal [armed] suspect. It's far too easy for a person to just keep right on going after a 9mm round enters the torso, so long as it doesn't hit any primary circulation or nervous pathways. There are a lot of places, even in the general right vicinity of around the upper sternum area where a 9mm slug can slide between the large vessels and not cause enough damage to slow a determined aggressor down. Of course puncturing the lungs will still have an effect, but it may not be as much as you would like.

Exactly. As a tanker, our primary sidearm was an M9. If the 120mm tank round, .50 cal TC's weapon, or the two M240 machine guns or the single M4 in the tank didn't stop them the M9 was not going to be of much help.
The fun bits were when we had to "improvise" and turn the loader's 240 into an OP machine gun nest. Firing it out of it's little pintle mount was not fun but it sure as hell scared the crap out of the enemy.

This is true. I would much rather have whatever I'm going to need to shoot at go down and stay down with the first round, though. Or if it's a really dicey situation, go down with whatever round I may hit it with, so that I don't have to keep myself in physical danger for longer.
All of this being said, the M9 9mm is still the handgun that I'm most proficient in and most comfortable shooting. Until I get a chance to train a lot more with other weapons, I'd probably pick that because for me it's what I know I'm going to do a damn good job putting lead downrange in the right place with.

When you compare 9mm to other carry options, like .380, .32 .25 .22 it obviously has more stopping power. I think that's the point he was making.
