• Banggood US?

From Dumas Walker@VERT/CAPCITY2 to ALL on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 11:13:00
    Good morning,
With some of the discussion lately about ebay, paypal, etc., I am wondering
if anyone in the US has ever tried buying anything from Banggood? What
    were your experiences?

    Thanks!

I have. About 2 years ago. I ordered some caps (newsboy style)
which were ok. But a coat that I ordered was not exactly what I
expected. It was not as heavy as I expected, but it makes a good
    spring jacket. Brand: Jeep Rich(tm)

Then.. for the longest time, I kept getting Banggood animated
ads on the Google and Facebook sidepanels. They showed up on
some news websites too. I hated that.

Looks like an alibaba or aliexpress clone. The prices are about the same. I'll let you know should I buy anything from them. For me price is everthing. ;-)

I've bought many things from them, but nothing lately.

Some of their items worked really good. But for their electronic modules,
I've been 90% dissappointed in what I got. Nothing that was broken when
it arrived, but the quality of the design was poor.

In many cases, you have to work hard to find the documentation for those modules - if you can find it in English.

Then there was the wait time between ordering and getting it.

So I can't say 'avoid', but I can't recommend them either.

Yeah, one thing I would worry about would be getting something electronic
sent back and refunded or replaced if it arrived damaged. I would rather
deal with a company on US soil but it seems like they have some things in
stock that no one else has.

I must say E-bay is very good when it comes to refunds and such. Even if the seller doesn't want to give you a refund I've had E-bay step in and refund my money. I don't know any other online stores that give the "Refund Guarentee" Ebay offers.

Can't seem to pick up the other half of your message, Hustler.

As discussed, eBay are great if you're a buyer but they do screw you over if you're a seller. I tend to purchase vintage machines from eBay because of how much can go wrong, i.e. poor packing and damage, etc... so that I have recourse as a buyer. PayPal, likewise, favour buyers rather than sellers.

I told the story before of selling a DSLR on eBay. Buyer declined additional insurance, camera was sent in working order, either it was broken in transit or he broke it, he called UPS back and said he hadn't ordered it and filed a dispute with eBay.

UPS charged me for the return shipping, then PayPal, after a thoughtful
period of contemplation, decided to refund him the auction cost and the shipping fees that I'd already paid for.

someone on here talked about a guy they knew who sold a piano and the buyer did fraud and was able to get his money back and keep the piano.

I think you can feed eBay any sort of improbable nonsense as a buyer and they'll choose to side with you in a dispute. Due to their monopoly they know they can keep treating sellers like crap and still retain them as customers due to the massive exposure they provide. It's bollocks but it is what it is :-/...

I dont know if that's a widely experienced problem. i think people usually have other complaints that get them refunds.

amazon uses everybody AND has their own carriers.
