    Hello All!

I had a visitor this morning:

There were actually two of them, but I only had the mind to try
and film something when the 1st one had already walked by.

    Hahahaha that is great.

We have foxes and boars but they don't want to be filmed.

My higher vantage point (and dirty window) probably helped to
prevent the animal to notice me and get spooked. Wild deer,
unless they are feeding at a purposful feeding station, are hard
    to film.

I have an old clip from the 80s where I filmed some things
around the farm early one foggy morning. And in EVERY scene that
had an animal, be it dog or bird, seemed to NOT want to be
filmed and just disappeared from the scene. That seemed pretty
funny to me. It was converted from its original 8mm to VHS, and
then I converted it suitable for DVD. I'll have to dig that up
and see if I could share the clip.

Meanwhile, I produced a smaller version of the deer clip, only
    5MB, instead of 15MB.

    960x540, Data Rate: 2462kbps

    https://kolico.ca/mpg/a-deer-VID_20210410_960x540.mp4

I think it's a pretty good compromise without loosing the
smoothness of motion. The details of the wave motion in the lake
    are still retained.

I'm impressed how some feature films that run 90 minutes look
good at 400MB in their mp4 recreations. I suppose they reduce
    the data rate.

my neighbor is a cop and he tried to shoot a raccoon that was destroying the roof of his porch. he got in trouble for discharging a firearm in city limits. he probably lied and said it attacked him. i saw the raccoon on my cameras this morning. it has a wound on his right hip but walks fine and eats fine.

Nice one. Quite relaxed, perhaps because it has not spotted you ;)

In my neighbourhood I see a lot of deers passing by.

Actually I helped small pack to get out from a dead end with fences to private plots that they tried to tresspass almost killing themselves while trying.

One morning I had a fun moment while checking post mail in the morning and on the road I saw 5 of them running on the street from right to left.

But deer is all cute and so freaking when they see/smell you that you barely have a chance to shake hand.

It's totally different game with boars and foxes I also spot occasionaly near by.
With these you must be careful and keep your distance.
