By the way, the show here in Melbourne the ages of those

people make, I get arguments. Yet the VERY FIGURES they
put out indicate this.
Concentrate quarantine on the vulnerable, the old, and on
those who have it, and ease up on everyone else. Put your
resources where it matters. Instead, the government is
focused on compliance rather than risk management.
Truly dispiriting, and I'm sick of it. Yet we will be with
this for another year at least.

What they are occassionaly interjecting into the news HERE in
Canada is that even those who sail through the infection, they
say that some of the people have permanent lung damage that
would certainly affect them in later years. And if that isn't
enough to scare everyone, they say that other organs can be
affected in ways that are yet unknown.

heart damage in nearly all patients, but that pulmonary rehabilitation seems to be able to help mitigate the damage and improve outlook.
TL;DR: The effects are more severe than previously thought, the ability to recover is better than previously thought but requires intervention, and the media is swinging things both ways depending on the network and agenda.
The only people I know personally who make it a political thing would be very offended being called members of "the right." Like maybe even "fighting words" or "safe space" offended.

Right, Facebook, that pillar of human intelligence. You can find anyone blaming anyone for anything on there if you look hard enough.
And that's still a pretty edgy answer. Should we stop policing murders, because people die anyway?
It seems to affect everyone differently, and your own personal health is a big factor. What the news also mention is that many people are walking around with it, many may not be aware. But they always mention this in the context of people spreading it, and the need for lockdown. If people aren't aware they have it, then obviously the symptoms don't always strike hard and for many, its a non-issue.
I'm not worried about catching it, I think I would rather have the virus for a couple of weeks, get immune and get on with my life, than continue with this lockdown.

I have wondered if it has more to do with health and lifestyle (and access to/wearing masks) than it does with the actual ethnic background. In the largest city in my state, we've been lead to believe that it is affecting persons of color in poor neighborhoods more than anyone else. When they show footage of these areas on the news, not many seem to be wearing masks.

The leftie media is claiming Trump can't win. Biden is too far ahead according to "the polls". Didn't they say the same thing in 2016?
