• looking for phone with specific features

    Hello!

    This is probably a longshot, but I'm casting my query anyway with the
    chance that someone can help.

    I am looking for a model of cordless phone that:

    [1] looks like these models:

    [o] Uniden D2380-3H w/cordless headset and answering system.
    [o] VTECH VTEDS66713

    [2] has Speed Dialing

    If you store a phone number in a speed dial memory location (10
    locations: SPD1 - SPD0), press and hold a number key (0-9) associated
    with the speed dial until the phone number appears and then press
    talk/flash or speaker. The number stored in the speed dial (SPD1 -
    SPD0) is dialed.

    Feature [2] is very important.

    I owned a fine Uniden DCT6485 with that feature. It proved to be very
    useful. I used the feature to simplify dialing the same first 6-digits
    when making local calls.

    For example, in my local area code, 613-, I would need to call the
    following exchanges: -332, -334, -337, -338, -339. But with speedial I programmed them like this:

    2 = 613-332
    4 = 613-334
    7 = 613-337
    8 = 613-338
    9 = 613-339

    705 is another local areacode but only one exchange was local, 448- Therefore, the 5 spot was fine:

    5 = 705-448

    So, with just two key presses: [2] + [Talk], it would automatically dial 613-332 for me.

    I had to retire the Uniden DCT6485 when it suddenly behaved like it was constantly off-hook when connected in the jack. Kaput.

    I procured a VTECH C56929-2 DECT 6.0 in a hurry from a local shop. The
    DECT 6.0 mode is nice since it doesn't interfere with the wi-fi. But it
    lacks a speed dial; I really miss it!

    The old phone also had a 2.5mm headset jack which I used when I needed
    both my hands free. But fumbling with the headset and the cord was not pleasant sometime. Newer phones as depicted in [1] above offer bluetooth ear-pieces which I am prepared to try.

    The old phone had a fine belt-clip which helped to keep the phone off-side instead of stuffed uncomfortably in a pocket. But with feature [1] ear- pieces, I wouldn't need to carry the phone around with me; that would be good.

    Is anyone aware of a phone model to fit my requirements?

    Since my old phone was a Uniden, I was hoping that the Uniden D2380-3H
    would be the logical choice, but it seems that Uniden nolonger produces phones and that model may not have had speed dial anyway. :(

    Yes.. that's the old one I was using. It's based on 2.4GHz that messes with wi-fi. I am passed that now. :( DECT 6.0 is the way to go now.
