I just finished the audiobook Into the Plex - it's about the beginnings
of Google, and goes into great detail about what made Google beat out
the Alta Vistas, Yahoos, and Excites of the day.

    Definitely worth checking out.

I just met a guy who works at libro.fm - sounds like an interesting alternative to Audible, and a nice way to help local bookstores in the process.

why's it such a long time to get on softcover.

Sometimes a hardcover NEVER gets released as a softcover. That could be
for a variety of reasons. Among them, the book sells so well as a
hardcover, there is no rush to introduce the competing softcover version.

Many very good and popular books fall into that category: Michelle Obama's book, the recent Harry Potter extended stories, etc. Just both of those have well exceed the typical 8mo to 1yr before being available in
softcover. Still no sign of the softcover version yet for them!

    What reviews are your reading?

About 135 people on Amazon took the time to write reviews, and the overwhelming conclusion is very good.

The libro.fm initiative is amazing. DRM-free. A subscription can be put
on hold and existing credits are retained.

The only niggly little detail.. my shop only gets a payout when a book is purchased a la carte, or if someone "gifts" a book to someone else.

An initial membership and purchases using a monthly membership are not counted for calculating the "cut". :(
