    Hi Matthew,
On <Tue, 16 Mar 20>, you wrote me:

WHO would operate the programme? The nurses there aren't going to
do it. To facilitate facetime, a volunteer would have to be
there, thus defeating the "extra precaution" to avoid being the source
    vector
    of covid-19.

The morale of the patients also leads to better health.

I concur! But the general public or volunteers + and even families are not permitted into nursing homes. There is no one to help the aged to operate the ipads for facetime.

I think it is a good idea, but it is not perfect as you have pointed out.
My father's wife has a mother in her 90's. While she is not completely
senile, we have discussed that she will have difficulty understanding why
her daughters are no longer allowed to visit, how to operate something like
an ipad/iphone and do face time, etc.

I am worried for the lady. She only went into care within the past 18
months or so. I am afraid this isolation will either finally drive her to senility or to death, even if not directly from any virus.
