i think it's time for more non politicians to run. also i think the news media needs to be put in its place. the media is trying to control everyone.

Agreed, The media has been doing that for almost as long as it's existed.

And I've been saying for a long time that we don't need more "Politicians" we need more Statesman. Politicians are all crooks and listen more to the lobbiests that fill their wallets then doing the will of the people they are SUPPOSED to be representing.

reporters should be held legally accountable when they endanger citizens and lie.

Agreed, they SHOULD be held accountable. They also be required to do their OWN fact checking before airing or publishing their reports and stop depending on someone else to do it for them and trusting that that other person is giving them the true unbiased facts.

they should also be banned from press events.

Then what would be the point of a PRESS event if you don't allow the press? :P

Whenever I watch the news on TV I hear "The New York Times reported" blah blah blah. Like the NY Times is the ultimate authority on US politics. The Washington Post is the other one. If one publishes a lie that makes it OK for all the other media outlets to take the ball and run with it. Has anyone even thought it's not really the President himself posting on Twitter?? Media wants to make money and will do anything to get it. Even if it is all lies.

Singapore or Thailand just passed a law regarding the spread of "fake news"
in order to hold their press more accountable.
