If you're doing Windows, You'd use "Windows Remote Desktop Protocol" (RDP). If you're running Linux, a simple SSH terminal like Putty should be all you need.

Me too :) Sometimes I do run xwin apps using ssh's xwindow forwarding..

I have been to do this on the rare occasion for admin, but I am currently doing this for desktop applications.
