Hello, I was wondering if I could get a little help setting up my own BBS and joining this little cozy corner of technology. Unlike a lot of you who were raised with BBS', I am still all pretty new to this since I was born in the early 2000's. Everything about this seems really cool to the nostalgic taste, the interconnected BBS message systems, and especially the dialing in without needing an internet connection (As long as you have a phone line of course).

I hope you guys can help me out with my little system and teach me all the hicks and tricks of running your own BBS system. I also hope to be able to one day help my fellow man with their own BBS-like system and maybe even add to the code base.

Anyway, my BBS, FTP, HTTP, and SSH server are all located at VeilNet.cf and I hope you don't judge too harshly on my poor set up as I am still very new to all of this. Anyways, cheers and have a great day :D

Welcome, its great to see more interest in this awesome technology that many of us used before "the Internet" was available.

Ask your questions, we are a friendly bunch :)

I asked if there was anyway to change the ANSI art you get when you first connect and how to change the menu structures of Synchronet

You can change almost everything. Check out the wiki at wiki.synchro.net. The ansi's are under the text files section and the menus are under command shells.
