That's the only way that I can get it below US$11 here. I would order a foot long sub, and it'll be enough for lunch. Since I drink only water through out the day, I don't get drinks there.

We used to have a privately owned sub shop down from where I used to work. Subs were about $5, but it's not that cheap now. The subs were really good, but
the owner acted almost exactly like the soup nazi from the old Seinfield episodes.

    "No sub for you!"

$11 is insane for a sub, especially when it comes from Subway.

Public transportation is great when it's available (saves the environment an saves you $$$), but in Southern California, at least, public transportation pretty limited. There are conspiracy theories about how/why that came to be, but it's just a fact. We are a car culture, at least here in (most of) California.

Public transportation is even more limited here in South Carolina, at least in the Midlands. I will admit that it would be nice to have better public transportstion, but I don't know if it would have been more affordable to use public transportation or to stick with owning a car. The commute here is aweful, a lot of people travel east to work and west back home. We get a lot of wrecks here, not sure how much public transportation would have solved that problem.

I'm sure it's help, because more people would choose to take public transport, if there were decent options available.

That's the problem with this area, there are NO public transportation options available. Believe me, I've looked... I was trying to get out of paying for parking at US$65/month and save on fuel. There isn't a transient system that will go cross county lines. There are a lot of people who travel in and out of the state's capital for work and live in neighboring counties.

Sometimes it can also be more convenient to use one or the other, or a combination of both. We have a light rail train system here, and if you live in one of the suburbs, it can be really convenient to drive your car to one of the transit stations and take the light rail train into downtown and not have to worry about the traffic and parking. If you don't have to carry anything, that can work out really well.

    That's pretty poor. :(
