I got a linkedin request from someone at a company that I don't have on my resume. He claimed that my name came up in their "unclaimed funds" research or something like that.
Bells went a 'ringing in my head - looked like a typical phishing scam, but yet not. They had information about me that wasn't readily available, had a LinkedIn Profile that showed current employment at the employer in question, some other background information in the profile as well...
I'm tempted to call and verify employment, but not interested enough to jump through hoops. I was going to ask the person to send me an email from the company to a throwaway account, but I blocked the user already.

Typical social media socially engineering us... It's pretty bad. BBS's may m a comeback if this internet stuff doesn't work out :)
They've been allowing endorsements from people that aren't actually endorsing you for years now. It's totally bogus. I love when you confront someone "did you endorese me for <skill>" and they say "what? i've never done that". Iwant to say i read somewhere a while back that LI got sued or something for this.
