Interesting that Number Stations were mentioned here on Dove-Net/General a couple of days ago, and then hearing about it on the AM radio from Kim Komando's Digital Minute this morning. The two clips I've heard when talking about these number stations does involve a little girl reading the numbers, and that's what makes it a bit erie for me. Kim Komando is saying that it's spies that uses these number stations to communicate orders or information, and that short wave is still used for that purpose today.

After learning about number stations a few days ago, I realized that I have listening and enjoying a song for years that contains a recording from a number station, and not a reading of a credit card number (what one starts with 00 anyways?): Skylight by Mark.Nine (freely available to download from Jamendo).

Maybe, it's time to find a short wave radio (or curcuitry of one) amd see what else is out there?
