    Yeah, my first computer (1992), I also got a modem (both hand-me-downs); the modem was 2400 baud. I remember waiting about 15-20 minutes to download a 1 megabyte file. I got a 14.4k modem in 1994 and eventually bought a 33.6k an then 56k when I started using the internet.

    I remeber trying to download the Doom shareware from a BBS and then gave up on it after awhile. I was young and tieing up the phone lines back then, so I wasn't very patient.

    Now-a-days, it is possible to get the same thing in about 1 to 2 seconds with a decent Internet broadband connection; maybe a few seconds over 4G LTE.

    Amazing how far we've come...

    Microsoft C 3.0 took overnight to download. Not sure why I wanted it now, I did most of my coding with Microsoft Quick C, their Turbo C copy with an IDE.

    There going to be busy releasing a pc with a xeon W 8-10 core processor with 32 gigs of ram with a 1tb ssd hard drive for 5000$. Insane price if you ask me but hey, I'm such mac users will give any reason to get that pc and they'll say its ok

    I just saw an article on that. Supposedly i will be an iMac Pro with an 18-core Xeon processor. The Xeon is typically used in servers, but I've never really seen the iMac as a server machine. The iMac has always seemed more like one of Apple's consumer/home-use PC offerings. I think the Mac Pro was the only home/consumer Mac that Apple had used a Xeon in before.
