Tim here from KK4QBN BBS. I am posting form Vertruen using my old handle because I don not have my BBS set back up at the moment, It is in 'stasis' if you will..

I have no real 'GOOD' excuse for shutting my BBS down, but I will try to explain myself anyway. my HDD was starting to fail and it could have been anytime that it would. I had a few users with SHELL accounts to my system and I wanted to shut that out before they got into coding too much and lost a lot of time and work.

(2) I had up to 3 people constantly trolling me #1 Being MRO.. and if the others were'nt MRO they had to Be some of his buddies.. (Roadhog and Denn Grey?) I have checked my logs and foung many HACK attempts from bot these users and they came from the SAME IP address, yet Denn swore up and down that they are two seperate people. For this to happen He would have needed to set a telgate to my system from his for both to have the same IP, and that was not the case.

I had NO idea who this Roadhog character was and he decides to jump into the middle of MRO and my own conversation which really was none of his business.. because usually, even tho MRO is a super troll and a prick, Sooner or later
we will find common ground.. until he comes off his meds again and starts all over..

What really sickens me is that Rob Swindell would'nt take 2 seconds out of his life to tell MRO to just chill out.. I know Dovenet is self governed, etc.. but sometimes enough is enough.. the Coordinator of the network SHOULD step in and take control of the situation.. You did this with Myself and Angus, Why not with MRO? You KNOW he has broken MANY rules by name spoofing, etc, to cirumvent the twitlist. another thing with the twitlist. If I twitlist a user, they can spread as many lies as they want to about me or my BBS, and I would be none the wiser..

I never had issues with MRO and agree with him on many occasions.. but when he Bullies people who cannot speak for themselves, I WILL step in. and DM its HIGH time you stepped in and done your job as the net coordinator.

I've also had people use my account on BBSLink servers to screw up my BRE games, Mark and I got to the bottom of that, and it will not happen again.

Also, I apologoze to the BBS systems who were pulling BBSLink scores and the QWK network off my system via qwk. But there always seemed to be something come up in the scripts, either my servers would screw up, or would pull 0 byte data from marks server. There is a much easier way of getting the scores on the fly via JS and can be incorparated straight into the BBS. Mark posted it in BBSLink Netwrk a long time ago.. And truthfull I believe having the BBSLinkNet was mixing people up.. BBSLinkNet had nothing to do with BBSLink. Other than offering a place for peple to communicate game strategy.. and of course they did'nt.. because most door gamers DO NOT post in message area..

And at the time I did'nt realize the BBSLink Wall existed. that is the perfect area for people to conversate :)

Again, all the nodes who took the time to set that up, I'm sorry for abruply pulling the plug.

It seems when things get too nerve racking for me, I just go away to keep from rasing my stress.. and when I have 3-4 people trolling me at once over nothing, it just gets old.. Needless to say, I've had a great break.

I've updated my syste, to LMDE 2 (Linux Mint DEBIAN). I love Debian, but also love Linux Mint, Best of bot worlds. It's running smoothly, and the BBS will be back up sooner or later, with a few changes. Any and all trolls will be ignored. And I will be Proactive and hate to say but any system who has received help from MRO in settin up will automatically be blocked from entering the system, Because if he has set your system up, rest assured he has put some type of back door or access medium where he can use your system as a proxy.

Other systems that I happen to receive any contact from him on will be sent a warning meesage about him, if he continues to us their system to contact mine, they will be blocked also. MRO thinks he is slick, but he is'nt..

I'm sorry for this mess. but I did believe I needed to explain myself. I try to to my best to keep my anger at bay, but I cannot tolerate ignorance and stupidity. and MRO is both. and a BULLY to boot.. anyone who would speak ill of the DEAD, especially to someone who has twitlisted them SHOULD NOT BELONG IN ANY PUBLIC FORUM.

And Rob Swindell, This Troll had Run MANY people from BBSing and Synchronet in general.. believe me or not, I really don't care.. I realize we have the RIGHT to free speech.. but this is not considered speech. this is a medium that will be preserved forever, and I would not believe libel/slander and Bullying would fall under FREE SPEECH.

You were never being hacked and maybe you forget but it was you that attacked me and I defended myself, when you say I hacked you thats a total bullshit lie and you know it, If you want I can repost the message were you attaked me first.

Do you really think anyone cares if you block them from your system?
I feel bad that you have a hard time coping with life in general and that you think the whole world should bend and bow down before you, thats not the way the world works, there is a thing called interaction with others and their viewpoints are just as valid as yours are.

i cant really be sympathetic in regards to tim smith. he's the guy who gave himself all his problems. people that disagree with you arent your enemy. if everyone had the same opinion things would be very fucking boring.
