My only point was that it was not what I expected at all. I was looking f or something more like world of warcrack, or even lambdamoo (lambda.moo.mud.org :8888). I never got past the group hanging out at the zone-in location, so may be there's more to it. It wasn't a slam on anyone's preferences though.

well, i dont hurt anybody or anything and i dont do anything with animals or anything that is illegal. what i do is something nobody would be ashamed of.

Shame is part of the experience. It's part of being open and vulnerable with another living, conscious soul, that can see your body through their own eyes the way you see their body with yours... and yes, they are probably judging you, just like you're probably judging them.

It would be nice if we never had to worry about not being good enough, or growing old, or our loved ones dying, or otherwise just leaving us behind. But it wouldn't be very human.

For some people, yes, it is a sex thing. And it's those that give the whole subculture a bad name. For a lot of people though, it can go as far as being a "spiritual" thing -- a way for them to get into a closer fellowship with their "totem," "spirit guide," etc. (I've a little American Indian blood in me, so this is where I approach the whole
    furry thing.)

I just started (finally) watching Star Trek Voyager over the weekend,
and the whole Indian "spirit guide" thing was featured. VERY cool!

Yeah, I thought it was, too. Then again, what Trek episode ISN'T cool? :)

And thanks for saying Indian and not Native American. That PC crap
really gets me, especially since my paternal grandmother was
Cherokee and we NEVER were offended by the word.

Understand. I've got Choctaw Indian in my blood plus I went to school and had a friend that was full-blooded Choctaw Indian.

Technically, "Indian" means from India.. I believe the reason that word was used was because Christopher Columbus initially thought he had landed in India, has he planned.

I tend to think of India when I hear "Indian".. But I do work with some people from India..

That Voyager episode where they were trying to push the speed barrier, and the captain and Ensign Paris went past warp 10 and ended up turning into lizards was a little weird.. I seem to remember hearing even the cast/writers of Voyager don't consider that episode canon anymore. :P

We have a lot of people of Indian (as in from India) descent here, some are immigrants, some are Indian students on a student visa, so if you say "indian" here, it's assumed you're talking about South Asian people. :)

It's like that in my part of the US too. There are quite a few people from India here, as well as restaurants serving Indian food. I feel like the default understanding is that "Indian" means from India.

No, actual Indians or "Hindu".. There are a lot of Natives that live about an hour away from me in Cherokee, but I live in what USED to be the Cherokee Nations Capital, My house is a block away from what was called the "Trail of Tears" My subdivision is located on what was called the "Roundup Area" where all the Cherokee were taken from their homes and cities and marched to North Carolina and then to Oklahoma I believe. more than half of them lost their lives. The Cherokee were a very Civilized tribe. They had their own printing press, courts, schools, and churches. But Rich, White people decided they needed their land (not any of my ancestors I can guarantee that) the part of my famly that were'nt brought over here as Irish slaves, were Cherokee.

This is why at times, I laugh at ignorant black people who say that WHITE people are all Slave driving devils.

Yes, the Irish slave trade has been played down in history, but I was aware of it. At least one of my ancestors was a convict on the First Fleet in 1788, the first wave of British invaders to Australia.

India is about 80% Hindu and 20% Muslim with a small mix of Christians mostly concentrated in the far eastern Indian states on the other side of Bangladesh. They have some 70%+ Christian states, over there (missionaries). There's also a VERY old Christian community in the South (like OLD, like founded by one of the actual apostles OLD), but I don't think it's statistically significant in terms of population.
