I have a Comcast VOIP line, and instead of using house wiring I have a cordless phone with extension phones in the house. I'd love to find a cordless phone with a line out, so you could plug a POTS device into a cordless phone and get dial tone that way. I have a MFP and an old
Western Electric phone I'd love to get working again.
I use a router with an inbuilt PBX switch and cordless base station. I also have a matching handset. However, the switch has 2 POTS ports, so I could plug in a phone, modem, fax or any other POTS device. I also have the option of setting up an ATA with a POTS device attached as an extension, just need to plug that into the wired network somewhere.
On the previous router, I had several devices configured as extensions. Haven't got around to sorting that out yet. Some of the old extensions aren't needed anyway.
... Almost everything in life is easier to get into than out of.
