Fox cancelled Firefly... and a lot of other good shows. I tend not to
get to attached to anything on fox.

I borrowed some Firefly DVDs once and watched the first few episodes but didn't really get into it. Normally I like sci-fi, but I just found it
so- so. I'm not too surprised it got canceled.

The Episodes were not aired in order... the network watned to put the more sensational episodes up front and the ones that developed and introduced characters out of line. I believe the DVD has them in this order as well.

There's an internet guide somewhere that lists the actual episode order. It's actually quite well done... and well developed. It is hard to get it if you don't watch them in order because sometimes the smallest bit of information has a major impact in another episode.

Summer Glau was the real star of the show and the movie... yet her character was so downplayed until the later episodes. At first she appears as a mentally handicapped child until you learn the truth.

I suppose I might try watching Firefly again. I've heard a lot of people liked it, which was enough for them to make a movie based on it.

Summer Glau was the real star of the show and the movie... yet her character was so downplayed until the later episodes. At first she appears as a mentally handicapped child until you learn the truth.

I suppose that's another reason I should watch it again. Interesting that you mention her though - I read a theory once saying things with Summer Glau tend to
get canceled. That certainly was also the case with Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles (Summer Glau played a Terminator in that show).

you can air crap out of order and you still got crap.

Summer Glau was the real star of the show and the movie... yet her

you just think that because she was attractive in that lolita way.

she's cursed and every show she's on gets shitcanned. the way they played her character is the way it was intended in the show bible.

I quite enjoyed Firefly, thought it was a good concept, and yes, the Internet is a valuable tool for understanding the order of things. A similar thing happened with the Babylon 5 spinoff, Crusade, which is best viewed in an order different to the original production sequence.
