    OK... who's the best fidonet feed out there that has big retention of echos, all echos and can rescan the echos?

    My understanding is that you can't just choose any FIDO feed based on those criteria; you generally would go through your regional hub.

    I've used Nick Andre for years. Seems pretty stable and all areafix features
    work because he maintains the source code to his mailer / tosser.

    My suggestion would be Bob Seaborn. He has a rock solid system and carries the full fidonet backbone as well as the full fido file backbone. Might cost ya $50.00 a year but well worth it.

    Not anymore -- with binkd and IP, it's feasible to poll whoever you want. You still need to get a node number through your region and poll for administrative purposes (I have people in Region 10 who have feeds for Fidonet elsewhere but poll me for regional echoes not on the backbone, files, and nodelist updates)
