What about desk drumming? I'm definitely guilty of that one.
The first and only time I heard (and then saw) a co-worker clipping his fingernails in a shared office, I was amazed at how unaware people can
be of their surroundings. But really... who wants dirty fingernail clippings flying around their workspace, even if they're your own? Gross.

My son and I were in the theater watching Star Wars The Force Awakens
when this guy a few seats down from us decided to clip his nails. We
had to give him a pointed stare before he got the idea and put it away.

My favorite is when people just snort their snot instead of blowing their nose. I have to suffer through that every day of my career. Why can't people just blow their nose? Why do they think that snorting their snot isn't disgusting?

I suppose that one isn't as bad as the others. Maybe because the only times I've heard people do that is only briefly. The other ones seem to be more ongoing. I've heard people continually crunch ice, pop gum, etc. all day long. What I find maybe a bit more surprising is when nobody says anything about it. Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one who finds things like that annoying.

I agree. I'm not sure why someone would want to clip their fingernails in their workspace.

Agreed. I hear people do that in the bathroom (along with harking a loogie and spitting it into the sink). I suppose it's better to do that in the bathroom, but it's still disgusting. I'm not sure why people have to do
that anyway.. I've never had to do that, and I'd rather not have to hear that from others.
i work with a guy that clears his throat every 30 seconds. he also chews bubble yump and pops it like a girl all the time. he's 56 too.
also destroys the bathroom when he takes a shit.
There used to be a cool website, gentlehints.com, where you could anonymously send "hints" to people about their hygene or behavior or whatever. It wasn't free though, apparently (http://www.xent.com/FoRK-archive/jun99/0188.html) and is now gone. :-(
I work with a lot of people from different cultures. Apparently restroom behavior can vary widely from what we in the U.S. consider "normal" or "sanitary". For example, in some cultures, it's normal, even in public/shared restrooms, to clean yourself after a BM using cups of water rather than any kind of paper product. So when you feel water splashing on your feet from the stall next to you, that you're cue to leave, if you can. And apparently it's acceptable to blow your nose into the wash basin (sink) in some cultures. Ugh.
We have a few people that top that on the disgusting list.. At work, they will snort and then spit into their trashcan. A few people have made the comment "I bet you pickup lots of girls doing that.."
Some people are just clueless.

I don't know why I found that funny, but I did. Probably because it seems each company has their own set of annoying people that apparently missed
the lessons on manors.
I have seen people pull their pants down to the floor to take a piss in the urinal, spit constantly in their trash can, make strange noises at random while working, you name it.

That sounds like a good idea. But it seems that it would rely on people checking that site regularly to see the comments they have received, and I imagine not everyone would probably care enough to check it.

sure there's volume knobs on keyboards. the dell one i'm using right now has one.
I don't recall ever seeing a knob on a keyboard. I've seen keyboards with volume controls, but they're usually a button rather than a knob.

need to type good and loud!
I recently read that many schools aren't even teaching typing anymore.
I guess many people wouldn't find it useful, since many people often
use tablets & phones these days, which don't even have physical
keyboards. I type much faster on a real keyboard though, since I
learned to touch-type many years ago.

I work and IT and haven't really seen one in person yet. I use a Dell Optiplex and there are ten or so where I work, none have knobs (or are in the closet). None are multimedia which is likely why, they are business machines.

I know I'm off subject now, but try being in a classroom with 3 to 4 six graders doing it all day long. That's a lot of FUN!
I spent one day as a substitute teacher... and that's after teaching GED classes to HUNDREDS of inmates in a correctional institution. I barely made it through the whole day and didn't go back.
WHEW there's nothing worst than pre-teens... the moment I walked in they asked what movie they were going to watch. I sat down behind the desk and said let's open your textbooks.
yeah that's disgusting. i think that's intentional. like they are just rude sick people and they feel like they are fucking over the next guy
for no good reason.
I was once a victim on a piss attack while using the restroom at Pilot.
This dude came in and started pissing all over the wall of the stall I was in. I ran after him but he was fast. I saw a cop, and I told him about it, but he said there's "No law against being nasty."
well, you were just taking over for one day when a teacher is gone. it's reasonable to think that you wont be able to actually continue their studies because you did not have information about what the teacher had the children working on at that time.
isn't here today so this is how things are going to roll." Trust me, they didn't. We got through the lesson plan and high school, inner city kids
are not easy to teach... all I saw was my future inmates... and sadly 4 years later guess what classroom they were sitting in. And it's amazing
how motovated they are when they get a 25% sentence / bail / fine reduction for getting thier GED so if they were in for 1 year... 1 year becomes 8 months with good behavior... and 8 months become 6 if they get their GED... they really were model citizens then.
