Has anyone managed to get the Linux version working? I can run it with
"-local" but haven't been able to get it working on the board. It reports
that it can't find the CTL file, even though the file is there. Hrm.... I
feel like I'm missing a simple step.

i cant even get the current version to work. it freezed up when i try to launch editor. i upgraded the way they said.

i sent rick an email but maybe he didnt get it.

I will send him an e-mail. On Linux, it just refuses to accept my .ctl file
and locks up... so if I leave the ctl file out, it attempts to load some defaults and tries to run... but then it throws up a LINIXCOM "Access Violation" error while reading door32.sys (Which actually has to be renamed DOOR32.SYS in all caps or nothing happens at all)... pretty cryptic.

It's driving me nuts because (/L)ocal mode works and the game runs so much better. I'd love to get it running on my system. It's probably just a case of doing more testing and giving him feedback.

When trying to upgrade 020e on win. I can enter userper32.exe and it says the new version 24, but when you play the game it still says 020e.

I don't see any auto-upgrade feature in the usurper 32 bit gui as it says in the instructions.

But, the game plays normal.

Did you run the editor32 program? I think that does the auto-upgrade.

Rick e-mailed me this morning and sent me a link to an updated Linux binary that actually runs and is playable from my board. There are a few bugs left to be sorted out, but the results are encouraging!

so i wasnt able to get usurper to work correctly using the recommended
older version that i and then updated to latest executables.

what i did was use my full version from bbstorrents that i patched up during the last major version and that worked fine.

there are some parts of the game where it reports the wrong version, but i talked to rick and that will be corrected. not sure if auto update works, because i'm at latest version. it would be good to be able to toggle it off, i'll talk to rick parrish about that.
