    Got spaceballs on the brain.

I still love John Candy's role.

    I enjoyed that movie. :)
I saw the following image online recently - It looked like there was going to be a Spaceballs reference in the upcoming Star Wars: The Force Awakens movie, but I think this image is photoshopped - still funny though: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CC0t_GCWMAAfF6A.jpg

Yeah, I like Spaceballs. :) It has been a while since I've watched it.

You need to recertify with Spaceballs and Blazing Saddles once a year. I usually do Saddles in the summertime and Spaceballs in the wintertime to break up the monotony of normal entertainment.

I was given the DVD last year. It's refeshing to watch it in all of it's gastrointestinal, politically incorrect glory. Too many times on basic cable they blank out all of the incorrectness that made the movie.

They even blanked out Lily Von Schtupp!

I hate it when they censor that sh**.. :P
I'll definitely have to watch Blazing Saddles one of these days.

Speaking of which, I saw a quote online recently that I liked: R2-D2 was the most profane character ever - They beeped out everything he said!

You're missing so many other of Mel's great movies! There's Young
Frankenstien, a real classic, The Producers, Twelve Chairs, I could go on and on. The point is I really can't think of any of his movies that aren't as
good as Spaceballs or Blazing Saddles. Although I must admit Saddles has more memerable one liners than any other movie I can think of.

I watched it a couple of nights ago becaue this discussion reminded me and I needed to refresh my memory. Wow, that movie could never be made today in our hyper-sensitive mega-tolerant politically-correct bubble. The gratuitous use of

the "n-word" alone would be enough to keep it out of every Hollywood studio. They poke fun at pretty much every stereotype and class and it's all in good fun. I love the scene where Gene Wilder is consoling the sheriff and explaining that the townspeople are "just simple farming folk, ignorant people of the land, you know... Mormons." and the actor playing the sherrif totally cracks up, braking character. You know that was ad-lib and totally unexpected and I'm sure there was a lot of improvisation that made it into the movie.

Many of those actors are no longer with us, but it's so nice that we can continue to enjoy their craft and humanity, pretty much, whenever we want to. Three cheers for technology! :-)
